Book Review-Into the Storm by Melanie Moreland

Into the Storm - Melanie Moreland

Into the Storm is the much anticipated debut novel by Melanie Moreland, it is the story of Elizabeth (aka Rabbit) and Joshua (a self-imposed recluse).  The story starts out with Elizabeth running away from her life in a heavy blizzard, she loses her way and ends up on Joshua’s land in the middle of nowhere after an accident.  Joshua takes her in during the storm and nurses her back to health and helps her with her memory loss so she can leave as soon as possible but life and fate have other priorities.  He tries to stay away from her and not get attached but her draw to him is too much especially when she knows nothing of herself, where she came from or who she is.  Joshua, not knowing her real name ends up calling her “Rabbit” because of the way she looks in his clothes and her quiet, easily frightened nature.  Their connection grows stronger the more time they spend together and when the time comes to figure out who and what she is neither want to give each other up but, Joshua know she has a whole other life, a public life to get back to, which is something he cannot give to her at this time.  He along with his personal assistant, Cecila find out who she is and plans are made to send her back to her life.  Little did they all know that her life wasn’t at all what it seemed to be.

Melanie has a way with words and her writing conjures up visions like no other.  Into the Storm was well written, a little too wordy in parts, but well written just the same.  Rabbit and Joshua’s relationship came off believable and Joshua’s struggle with his reclusiveness was spot on.  The secondary characters brought depth to the story, in the way they helped through the tribulations of rescuing Elizabeth from her lie of a life with Brian.

I give this wonderful debut 5 out of 5 stars!!!!

Melanie Moreland lives a happy and content life in a quiet area of Ontario with her husband and fur children. Nothing means more to her than her friends and family, and she cherishes every moment spent with them.
Known as the quiet one with the big laugh, Melanie works for the sporting teams of a local university. Her (box) office job, while demanding, is rewarding as she cheers on her team to victory.
While seriously addicted to coffee, and somewhat challenged with all things computer-related and technical, she relishes baking, cooking, and trying new recipes for people to sample. She loves to throw dinner parties and socialize, and also enjoys travelling, here and abroad, but finds coming home is always the best part of any trip.
Melanie delights in writing a good romance story with some bumps along the way, but is a true believer in happily ever after. When her head isn’t buried in a book, it is bent over a keyboard, furiously typing away as her characters dictate their creative storylines, to her even more inspired tales, for all to enjoy.

Where to find Melanie!!!!
